The Will of God: Step 1 to Spiritual Growth

[A 15 minute podcast follows this post.]

Spiritual Growth and The Will of God

The spiritual growth of a Christian begins with doing the will of God. However, most Christians falter here. Doing the will of God becomes an impossible task, filled with obstacles too large to surmount. We often put ourselves into spiritual straight-jackets, bound by Hadith-like rules that strangle us spiritually and make spiritual growth next to impossible. The world is filled with Christians whose spiritual growth either never happens, or is seriously diminished, and whose faith is faltering. Some just give up trying to live for God, discouraged and certain that they will never have the faith that produces spiritual growth.

Spiritual Growth Stunted Because of Ignorance

Ignorance plays a large part in the lack of spiritual growth in a Christian. Ignorance of the Bible is the leader in diminishing or hampering one’s spiritual growth, but following closely is misunderstanding of the Word of God. Too often, we read the Bible and totally misunderstand what is being said.

A Growing Faith will Produce Spiritual Growth

If your faith is growing, you are experiencing spiritual growth. Thus, it becomes imperative to learn how to grow your faith. In order to grow your faith, you must exercise your faith. In order to exercise your faith, you have to understand how that is done. Otherwise, you’ll not experience any spiritual growth in your life.

Spiritual Growth Demands Obedience

As Christians, we are commanded to obey God. There are things we are told to do, and some things we are told not to do. The problem most Christians face with spiritual growth, and learning to grow their faith, is that they try to do it the wrong way. They somehow get the notion that it’s all a matter of “will power.” And, it is, to a degree. But, there is a little secret to the exercise of that will power in creating a faith that grows and produces spiritual growth. That secret is understanding where one is to exercise his or her will, and how to exercise his or her will, in order to obtain spiritual growth.

Spiritual Growth Not Gotten by Will Power Alone

Suppose you grit your teeth and say: “I’m gonna walk with God! I vow this day, I will have greater faith! I promise that I will have spiritual growth from here on out!” Do you think that will work? I can tell you from experience, it does not work. But, there is a way that you can make such a declaration, and it will work to produce spiritual growth. You just have to add an element to that declaration that is usually missing. Listen to the podcast below and I’ll show you a guaranteed way you can experience explosive spiritual growth in your life, and will see a dramatic growth in your faith. You’ll learn how to do the will of God and experience spiritual growth greater than you’ve ever known.
